W. & J. Graham's 20 Year Old Tawny Port is the result of the Master Blender's quest for the perfect balance between young and aged Port wines, drawing on grapes from Graham's Douro Valley quintas and two centuries of blending, cooperage and ageing expertise. An average of 20 years spent in seasoned oak casks allows the wine to slowly oxidise from deep ruby to its distinctive amber, golden-tawny colour, softening its tannins along the way. On the nose, it shows an excellent bouquet of nutty character and mature fruit, with delicate hints of orange peel. The palate is rich, softly sweet and smooth, perfectly balanced, and carries through to a long, elegant finish — a fitting glass for a cheeseboard of nuts and dried fruits, or alongside a crème brûlée.
This is a 20% ABV Tawny Port from the Douro Valley, Portugal, produced by the Symington family's Graham's house. The wine is a blend of older wines matured for an average of 20 years in seasoned oak casks, during which slow oxidation shifts the wine from deep ruby to its characteristic amber, golden-tawny hue while softening tannins and alcohol heat.
