Chamonix Greywacke Pinotage is a refined expression of South Africa's signature red grape, showcasing elegance rather than sheer power. Aromas of blackberry, dark cherry and ripe plum are layered with subtle notes of spice, cedar and cocoa. The palate is richly fruited yet beautifully balanced, with fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity providing structure and lift. Careful oak maturation adds complexity without overshadowing the fruit, while the finish is long, smooth and savoury. This is a modern, sophisticated Pinotage that highlights both the quality of the Franschhoek terroir and Chamonix's meticulous approach to winemaking.
This wine is made from 100% Pinotage grown on the slopes of the Franschhoek Valley. Fermentation takes place in a combination of stainless steel and open fermenters, followed by maturation in French oak barrels, resulting in a medium- to full-bodied wine with concentrated fruit, fine tannins and excellent balance.
Chamonix Wine Farm follows environmentally responsible and sustainable farming practices, with a strong focus on biodiversity and minimal intervention viticulture.
