Made from a carefully balanced mix of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it reflects both the heritage and forward-thinking winemaking of this historic estate. The grapes are hand-selected from Vergelegen’s prime vineyard sites, where granite and shale soils add depth and complexity. After fermentation, the wine matures in French oak to enhance texture and nuance without overwhelming the fruit. The result is a wine bursting with aromas of black cherry, plum and cassis, layered with hints of cedar, spice and dark chocolate. The palate is generous yet poised, with supple tannins and a long, elegant finish.
