The Sack Shiraz is an absolute Blockbuster of an Aussie red! The Barossa Valley is arguably the best place in Australia for growing Shiraz, and this is a fantastic example with great depth and character. The colour is an intense, deep purple, with dense sweet black berry aromas. To drink, it has a slightly savoury, almost meaty character with hints of black pepper, meat and oak., but always fresh, juicy and bright! The black cherry and plum flavours are enhanced with long ageing in oak. The finish is long and rich with a touch of that toasty oak. Great for drinking now, but there is plenty of structure which would ensure this wine would keep nicely for a decade or so, if you can wait that long!

This Shiraz is sourced from the finest available vineyard sites across the premium Northern Barossa Valley. Coming from 5 different growers, including a small amount of Eden Valley Shiraz and 3% Grenache. Aged in a variety of French and American oak barrels different ages and sizes, such a good vintage that the new oak percentage is a little higher than normal, around 30%. It spends the usual 22 months in oak with the barrels swapped around.
