Marco Bonfante Perste' is bellisimo! Refreshing? Yes. Delicious? Yes, but so far away from the crisp and citrussy world of something like a Sauvignon. This is clean and fine, with notes of peach and apricot. The wine has plenty of body and a lovely smooth, fresh mouthfeel. It all just feels perfectly balanced and fragrant, like taking a walk through an Italian orchard in the height of summer. Enjoy with all manner of fish dishes, salad or pork.
Roero is a small area on the left bank of the Tanaro river, in front of the production area of Barbaresco. A paper from 1478 stored in Canale testifies the presence of Arneis variety already in that time. The name Perste', “Per Stefano” (For Stefano) is a welcome homage to Micaela's first son, who joined the family in '14.
