Distinctive for its very neutral flavour yet impressive potential for complexity, Palomino is a white grape that originates from Spain’s Jerez region.
Garganega (the basis of Soave) and Trebbiano di Lugana (also known as Turbiana and the backbone of Lugana DOC) are considered unusual because extensive DNA profiling revealed both possess surprising identities, with Garganega being genetically identical to Sicily's Grecanico Dorato and Trebbiano di Lugana belonging to the noble Verdicchio family rather than the commonplace Trebbiano varieties.
Zibibbo is also known as Muscat of Alexandria which originates in Egypt so not super rare, but interesting so we included it and it is the oldest genetically unmodified vines still in existence
Malagouzia is unusual because it combines intensely aromatic, exotic fruit with a rich, rounded texture, and it originates from Greece.
Friulano is unusual for its subtle almond-skin finish, and it’s lovely for its fresh pear and citrus notes wrapped in a gently textured, savoury style.
Vermentino is considered an unusual and highly distinct white grape variety due to its ability to balance high-toned, electric acidity with a rich, often oily texture, combined with a characteristic bitter almond finish.
