Many of you know Susumaniello. But it ranks among the world's rarest grapes. It's grown in Southern Italy - think red berries and plums.
Then we have Cannonau, meant to have powers of longevity for those who drink it daily in Sardinia. It's know as Grenache and Garnacha in Europe, but Canonnou is only grown in Sardinia and actually thought to have originated there.
Aglianico from Campania is such an interesting grape. Aglianico del Vulture is one of the best known appellations to use the variety. They say this grape is noble and should be up there with Barolo, but as it's lesser known it hasn't quite got the respect it deserves - yet. Deep and tobacco-y in flavour.
Nero di Troia stands out for its rare combination of floral aromatics and firm, age-worthy structure, mostly found in its Puglian homeland.
Bovale Sardo is distinctive as a little-known, ancient Sardinian grape prized for its concentrated colour, bold character, and surprising freshness.
We popped in a Tannat. Tannat is unusual for its intensely high tannins and deep, rugged structure, making it one of the most powerful red grape varieties in the world. (High in antioxidants too!)
We hope you enjoy exploring these wines
