From the Palazzina vineyard at Il Cascinone in Piemonte, this Vendemmia Tardiva Moscato d’Asti is made by letting grapes hang later than usual, then drying them on traditional rush mats (“graticci”) so they lose around 40% of their water, concentrating sugars and flavours. Harvested by hand, the wines are pressed in mid-December and aged slowly (including in oak) to deepen the complexity. Expect a nose of lemon curd, marmalade and orange peel with fragrant honeysuckle; on the palate ripe apricot and acacia honey shine, balanced by a fresh citrus lift and a long, lingering finish dominated by candied fruit and sweet floral tones. It’s a decadent dessert wine, ideal for special moments or whenever you want something indulgent yet refined.

Palazzina vineyard is on the Il Cascinone estate. Vine yield is 3000 litres per hectare. The fruit is hand harvested in the second half of October (about one month later than the usual Moscato harvest). The grapes are dried on 'graticci' - a traditional Italian rush mat. During this time 40% of the fruit's weight is lost by water evaporation. In mid-December the whole bunches are pressed and then a slow fermentation is undertaken in oak barrels for 2 months followed by 12 months ageing prior to bottling.
