Félicette Light Speed is a brilliantly vibrant, chillable red from France’s Roussillon region, bursting with juicy strawberry and ripe cherry flavours. Made from a co-fermentation of Grenache Noir and Macabeu, it combines crunchy red fruit, bright freshness and a subtle mineral edge in a wonderfully light, energetic style. Served slightly chilled, it’s an irresistibly drinkable wine that captures the fun, easy-going side of southern French winemaking.
It is often said that there are more people who have travelled to space than there are Masters of Wine, and while that may be very true, there are many more MW's than there are cosmic cats. In a uniquely Gallic surge of innovation, '63 witnessed France entering the feline space race via a cat named Félicette. Now immortalised on a wine that pays homage to those that think outside the box, Felicette is for all those who dream to be a little different. An elegant supple, succulent and aromatic Grenache Rouge, and a mineral, crisp, and fresh Grenache Blanc, both IGP Pays d'Oc and indigenous to the region. Both have been carefully crafted to be subtle, sassy and food friendly.A light red made from the co-fermenting of Grenache Noir & Macabeu. The grapes were destemmed and left to macerate for 36 hours before the juice was pressed off to finish fermentation. The result is an absolutely epic light red wine, bursting with fresh strawberry and ripe cherry flavours. Pop it into your cryo-chamber for a few quick minutes and this being from beyond is ready to be enjoyed.
This wine is crafted from grapes grown in the south and center of the Agly Valley, with the central vineyards offering a stunning view of the historic Cathar castle, Quéribus. The vines thrive in black schist soils, which retain heat and provide excellent drainage, enhancing the wines' fresh, mineral character. Grapes are hand-harvested to ensure optimal ripeness and gentle handling. The Mediterranean climate, with low rainfall and warm, dry conditions, contributes to low yields and vibrant, balanced fruit. The valley’s geology and climate encourage soft tannins, bright acidity, and delicate complexity, perfect for this light red wine.
