Cantina Oliena Cannonau di Sardegna is a smooth, warm and full-bodied red with high alcohol content and rich depth of flavour. Cannonau is a variety of Grenache which grows in Sardinia and is often cited as being (at least in part) responsible for the long and healthy lives of people in the area. This wine is from one of the three sub-regions which are known to grow the best Cannonau. Ruby red, don't be fooled by the colour into thinking this wine is light, the warming aromas of cherries, brambles and sweet spice give way to a smooth, hearty wine with gentle tannins.
