Cabreo La Pietra Chardonnay is wine with a strong personality, with aromas speaking the language of flowers and ripe tropical fruits. On the palate it is rich, dense, persistent but also fresh, fragrant and mineral.
"The Tenute del Cabreo estates cover two areas, both in the town of Greve in Chianti. The first, known as Zano, consists of 45 hectares of vineyards planted with Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon vines, the grapes of which are used to produce the Cabreo wine.
The second, just 6 km away in Panzano, on the highest hills of the Chianti Classico region, consists of 20 hectares cultivated with Chardonnay and Pinot Nero. Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari have inherited a history dating back over two centuries, the nineteenth and twentieth centuries to be precise. Their forefather Lorenzo Folonari, born in Valtellina in 1729, moved the family to Val Camonica, an area that soon became home to a long line of entrepreneurs who made a name for themselves in Brescia’s business world, firstly through trade and then through the production of wine.
In the year 2000, Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari, respectively Nino’s son and nephew, established the company named Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, composed of five estates located in the areas of Tuscany best suited to wine production, where some of the best wines are produced. Following in Nino’s footsteps, Ambrogio and Giovanni continue to pursue an important project designed to promote the region and its diversity, investing in the estates and focusing on the production of high quality, elegant wines with a strong character and closely linked to the region.
Innovation, creativity, research and respect for diversity are the values on which the history of this family and its long line of generations is based."
