Beyerskloof Eerste Ry Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium wine showcasing the finest expression of this classic varietal. Grown in select vineyard blocks, it features intense flavours of blackcurrants, dark cherries, and plums, layered with notes of cedar, tobacco, and sweet spice from maturation in French oak. Full-bodied and well-structured, its firm tannins and balanced acidity make it ideal for ageing or immediate enjoyment. A perfect match for robust meat dishes or fine cheeses, this wine reflects Beyerskloof's commitment to crafting sophisticated, terroir-driven wines.
Grapes were picked at optimum ripeness from the oldest vineyards on the farm. Made in open fermenters, on the skins for 5-8 days at an average temp. of 26°C. Punching of the cap was done every 2 hours to extract good colour and flavours from the grapes. After malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine aged in 100% new French oak for 24 months.
