Château de Piote’s Cuvée des Chefs is a thoughtfully crafted Bordeaux Blanc that captures the purity of its organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards. Fresh and aromatic, the wine shows notes of lemon zest, white peach, and a gentle hint of cut grass. The low-intervention approach allows the character of the Sauvignon Blanc to shine—crisp, lively, and refreshingly dry. A whisper of Sémillon adds roundness and depth. With minimal sulphur and no unnecessary manipulation, this is a beautifully honest expression of white Bordeaux—perfect for those who seek both freshness and authenticity in the glass.
The Aubrion family have run this small Right Bank estate since '98, when Virginie Aubrion and her family took over the delapidated farmhouse and surrounding land. Indomitable and determined matriarch Virginie, has always been the winemaker here and now shares the work of running the estate with her son Corentin, with other family members chipping in as and when they can. Their aim has always been to return their home to its original state as a farm and their commitment to biodiversity is very much enhanced by their menagerie of sheep, pigs, chickens, horses, donkeys and ducks - their favourite Michele appearing on the labels of their cuvée des Potes range. The wines are hand-made and artisanal and sit on the "natural" side of the fence, but still very proper and crafted rather than "funky".
They are true lovers of the land, with the estate being farmed organically well before it become trendy in Bordeaux and certified biodynamic with Demeter since '13.
Château de Piote’s Cuvée des Chefs is a dry white Bordeaux made from organically and biodynamically farmed grapes, predominantly Colombard, with a touch of Sémillon. It’s produced with minimal intervention and very low sulphur, aiming to express purity and terroir. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts, often in stainless steel to preserve freshness and aromatics. Expect moderate alcohol, bright acidity, and clean citrus-and-herb notes—this is a wine made with respect for both nature and tradition.
