Vieille Monnaie Pinot Noir is great value Pinot with body, ripe fruit flavours and elegance. The warmer climates of the Languedoc lead to a fuller bodied style of wine than Pinot Noir from Burgundy. The aromas of stewed cherries combined with soft, warm palate and balanced, savoury palate with tannic structure adding a layer of herbaceousness and a touch of complexity.
"The original French Franc was released in 1360, to pay the ransom of King John II of France. The coin showed the King astride a horse earning it the name 'Franc à Cheval, or "free on horse". This 'old money' Pinot Noir is a pure expression of the grape and a faithful homage to ancient French winemaking."
An unique take on Pinot Noir from two growers' plantings in the sun drenched vineyards of the Southern Languedoc. Picked at optimum ripeness, balancing phenolics and acidity then cool vinified to enhance the fresh fruit flavours.
