Bressia Profundo is a rich and opulent blend of grapes from the Mendoza region of Argentina which reflects the unique terroir of this region. Intense, brooding aromas of dark plum and cherry as well as vanilla and warm oak draw you in to an opulent and rich palate with great concentration. Despite its full body, it's also elegant with flavours of plum, cherries and luscious blackberries. This is an awesome expression of Bressia's vineyards and talent. Profundo simply translates as 'profound'. The wise and legendary Argentinian winemaker, Walter Bressia, wanted to make a wine which went beyond single varietal expression, to create something special and with passion that reflects the terroir of Agrelo and Uco Valley.

"There’s something very special going on down a dusty track in one of the farther-flung out posts of Mendoza. A winemaker for years (‘for other people...’ as he puts it), Walter Bressia has spent decades quietly accruing relationships with growers and has emerged with an eclectic portfolio from six sites that, he believes, represents the very best of the region.Walter Bressia and son Walter Jnr, are crafting their own very compelling expressions of the region and these are intensely personal wines. There’s a kind of secrecy to their source, you can visit the vineyards and they are indeed impressive, gnarly old things, beautifully tended, but there is alchemy back at the bodega. Walter’s fabulous finds have been spun into wines of depth and character. Production isn't huge but the quality and personality of the wines are."

A blend of 50% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 10% Syrah. The vineyard is 3,120 feet above sea level. Practices include canopy management, with careful shoot, leaf and cluster fruit removal. The grapes are manually harvested and fermentation took place between 25-27°C. The wine was then aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months. It can be drunk now, but it has the potential to age for over 5 years.
