Food Pairing Guide | This makes for a mega apéritif, otherwise try with stinky cheeses and aromatic middle-eastern and eastern cuisines. |
Gros Manseng is a lesser known variety that thrives in South-West France and is capable of both light, bright and zesty wines as well as making fantastically exotic dessert wines. This wine combines the best of both worlds by blending two batches: a dry and zingy batch combined with a small amount of wine made from late harvest grapes which adds a touch of depth, exotic fruitiness and a lick of spice. A fabulous all-rounder that's great as an aperitif or serving with Middle Eastern cuisine. Well worth a try if you're looking for something new!
To get the best out of Gros Manseng, two wines were made and blended together: a bright and zingy Gros Manseng fermented to dryness into which was blended a smaller proportion of late harvest Gros Manseng, bringing with it a delightful fruitiness and exotic spice.
