Funkstille Grüner Veltliner is delicious Gruner and a fab introduction for anyone who is unfamiliar with the grape and wants to experiment. Clean and refreshing with subtle exotic hints, ripe pear and fresh citrus flavours as well as a touch of spritz which gives it a very pleasant lift. Very pleasant indeed. Delicious as an aperitif or with grilled white fish or Asian salads.
The grapes are harvested from 15 year + old vines in the Niederösterreich which are sited on clay and limestone soils and where the climate is cool continental.
After careful picking, the must is fermented in stainless steel tank with no malolactic fermentation but with 8 weeks of lees contact. Gentle fining and cold stabilisation.
