Solara Glou Glou Natural Red wine from Romania is chocca block, packed full of bramble fruit aromas of raspberry and blackberry. The wine itself is smooth and juicy with complex notes of blueberry and moderate acidity and smooth tannins on the finish. It's a bright, fruity and best served lightly chilled. The alcohol is reasonably low, making it perfect for those warm summer afternoons, or picnics. Low sulphur, unfiltered and unfined.
"A 'glou glou' wine is a bright, fruity style of wine, best served chilled, that demands to be glugged down to slake your thirst. This 'vin de soil' is made from whole bunches of organically farmed merlot which are left to ferment entirely naturally in tank for three weeks. Eventually the finished wine is bottled without filtration, fining or the addition of sulphur in order to preserve the natural flavours of the perfectly ripe grapes."
The Cramele Recas Estate, owned by Englishman, Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira, have put in a huge amount of work into transforming their slice of grape growing history into a contemporary winemaking haven. The immaculate vineyards are a combination of evolved plantings from 1447 and much more recent plantings too. With recent investments into modernising and improving their winery, they regularly host world class flying winemakers, vintage to vintage, to work with their team. This enables them to create top quality wines and constantly challenge themselves push innovations and approach winemaking with an open mind.
