Château Los Boldos Tradition Réserve Cabernet Sauvignon is intensely blackcurranty, with hints of spice, cherries and herbs. A very classy glass of Cab Sav that is one of the specialties of the winery. Despite being full bodied, it's balanced and fresh, and the tannins are not overpowering.

In 2014 Château Los Boldos were fully certified as Sustainable Wine of Chile in the three available aspects: Vineyard, Winery and Social aspect. It is their way of showing a continuous commitment to respect and protect the natural resources and the environment, as well as to assure the wellness and improve the community´s quality of life.

Los Boldos has 170 hectares of vineyards which benefit from a Mediterranean climate. The clear, bright skies during the summer and the wide diurnal temperature range are ideal for growing fruit that maintains fresh acidity whilst ripening to perfection. The grapes for the Cabernet Sauvignon come from a vineyard in Requinoa, located in the appellation of Cachapoal. The nearby Cachapoal river moderates temperatures, while stony alluvial soils in the vineyard ensure low yields

Château Los Boldos was founded in 1991 and is situated 100km south of Santiago in the foothills of the Cachapoal Andes. Working with a portion of old vines originally planted in 1948, the focus from the onset has been on the production of premium wines. The estate has been transformed since it was purchased by Sogrape in 2008. Renowned soil scientist and viticultural consultant Pedro Parra (of Clos des Fous) was brought in to assess the plots and match the right variety to the different soils around the estate. The type of rootstock, planting density, orientation and the frequency of irrigation were all within Pedro’s remit, and the results are now being seen in the wines, especially since Victor Arce, previously of Perez Cruz, joined as winemaker in 2015.

The 2019 vintage began with a very dry winter and spring with very little rainfall and temperatures slightly higher than average. This was followed by a dry summer, which prompted slow ripening and ensured there was little disease pressure in the vineyards. The 2019 vintage has produced fresh, aromatic wines. Fermentation took place in stainless-steel tanks over a period of eight days at a controlled temperature of 26°C. No oak was used in order to preserve the intense varietal flavours of the Cabernet Sauvignon, and after malolactic fermentation it was kept in tank for four months prior to bottling. Winemaker: Victor Arce Acidity: 5.63 g/l Residual sugar: 3.54 g/l pH: 3.52
